By earning your WEDG Associate credential in the WEDG Professionals Course, you join a national network of leaders who will shape waterfronts across the country for generations to come.
In the WEDG Professionals Course, you will dive into the categories and credits that make up the WEDG rating system. Architects, developers, landscape architects, and engineers will share case studies showcasing how their projects successfully implemented WEDG principles.
Participants earn the WEDG Associate credential upon completing the course and passing an open-book exam. The course offers credits for ASLA and AIA.
How to Take the Course!
WEDG Professionals Self-Paced, On-Demand Course
The course is on-demand and self-paced. After completing the online course material at your own discretion and passing the open-book exam at the end of the program, participants can earn their WEDG Associate credential, same as the livestream course.

Mississippi River Basin
Individuals working on environmental, flooding, or water-related issues in states along the Mississippi River may qualify to take the WEDG Professionals Course for free or at a reduced cost. Funding provided by the Walton Family Foundation.

How to Extend your Credential
If you have completed the WEDG Professionals Course, your credential lasts for four years.
You can extend your credential two ways:
1. Complete the WEDG Version 3.0 Refresher to extend your credential by two years. The one-hour course covers the most recent changes to the WEDG standard.
2. Complete the WEDG Professionals Self-Paced Course in full to extend your credential by four years. The six hour on-demand or online, live course takes you through the entire updated standard and new case studies.
Both options take you through WEDG’s most recent updates, including its expansion to riverine and lacustrine waterbodies, updated living shoreline and community engagement standards, new carbon mitigation credit, streamlined submission process, and more.
